Can I use GLAD® Snap Lock Bags in the freezer and microwave?
Yes, when pre-preparing and freezing food, GLAD® Snap Lock Bags have a unique re-sealable closure system, which means you, can take out as much as you want, then reseal and return the food to the freezer. GLAD® Snap Lock Bags are also microwave safe, so you can defrost food in the microwave. Use in combination with GLAD® Go-Between to prevent food sticking.
Can you use GLAD® Bake & Cooking Paper to cook roasted vegetables?
GLAD® Bake & Cooking Paper is ideal for this purpose. Roasted vegetables simply slide off making washing up easy.
Can GLAD® Bake & Cooking Paper be used for other uses other than cooking or baking?
Yes, cut GLAD® Bake & Cooking Paper into patterns such as stars, hearts, etc Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg over the pattern and onto cocktails to add a special touch.
Can you line a frying pan with GLAD® Bake & Cooking Paper?
Yes. GLAD® Bake & Cooking Paper can be used to line fry pans, however the pan must be set on a low medium heat. GLAD® Bake has a Non Stick coating so there is no need to grease for healthy, fat free cooking
Can I use GLAD® Bake & Cooking Paper in the microwave?
Yes, since GLAD® Bake & Cooking Paper can withstand temperatures up to 230°C, it is an ideal material for covering or wrapping food in the microwave oven. It prevents food like fish from sticking, helps keep food moist and prevents splattering.
Can I use GLAD® Wrap when using a preheated browning dish, or in a convection oven?
No. GLAD® Wrap is not designed for this purpose because of the excessive direct heat generated once the dish is pre heated.
Can I reheat and defrost food in the microwave using GLAD® Ware containers?
Yes, GLAD® Ware containers are microwave safe provided the lid is vented prior to microwave use to allow steam to escape and that the food is not of a high fat, oil or sugar content as this might cause damage to the GLAD® Ware container.
Can I wash GLAD® Ware containers in the dishwasher?
Yes, GLAD® Ware containers are dishwasher safe provided that the container is placed on the TOP SHELF of the dishwasher.
Can I put GLAD® Ware containers in the freezer?
Yes, GLAD® Ware can be used in the refrigerator and freezer. The tight sealing lids will lock in freshness and minimize freezer burn. GLAD® Ware is the perfect solution for storing leftovers or making meals in advance to freeze them for later. Take care when GLAD® Ware has been in the freezer because plastic containers and lids can become brittle when they are frozen.
What can I use to transport food to picnics or other outings?
When transporting food, use GLAD® Ware Containers to prevent spills and keep food fresher longer. GLAD® Ware Containers are ideal for storing soup, yogurt, fruit, salad, salad dressing and marinades because they won’t leak in your bag or in the car.
Can I use GLAD® Oven Bags in ovens and microwaves?
Yes GLAD® Oven Bags can be used for both gas and electric ovens and also for microwaves. GLAD® Oven Bags can be safely used in a gas oven, provided the bag is not placed near a naked flame, the temperature does not exceed 190°C and the oven bag is not placed near the oven walls. In conventional electric ovens and microwave ovens, GLAD® Oven Bags are heat resistant to 200°C and have a special tear off tie built into the bag, which facilitates the products use in the microwave.
Why do I need to put flour in a GLAD® Oven Bags?
Flour is needed in an oven bag for two reasons: 1. To coat the oven bag to stop food from sticking to the bag. 2. When cooked, food releases juices such as oil, fat and water, which if mixed together can cause the oven bag to explode. Flour placed in the bag will prevent this from happening as it absorbs all the oil and water.
Why do I need to pierce 3 or 4 holes in the top of the oven bag near the tie end before cooking?
Piercing holes in the top of the oven bag near the tie end is important. This will allow steam to escape from the bag and prevent the bag from bursting.
How can I separate my frozen food easily?
Frozen food inter – leaved with GLAD® Go-Between (e.g. T-bone steak, slices of bacon, chops, e.t.c.). It is easy to separate so only the amount required is taken from the freezer. This saves thawing the entire package.
How many tablespoons of liquid does a GLAD® Ice Cube Pocket hold?
Each GLAD® Ice Cube Bags Pocket holds one tablespoon of liquid, so you know how many you need for a recipe. They are easy to pop out individually or in a row of four, or you can pull the top, bottom and the sides to release a whole bag of Ice Cubes. They won’t evaporate in frost-free refrigerators and you can even freeze vegetable, fish or chicken stock.
What is the difference between GLAD® Garbage Bags and the cheaper brands?
The major differences between GLAD® and the less expensive brands are the features of the bags such as drawstrings and the material used in the bags production. Cheaper products are made from a crinkly material, while GLAD® TUFF STUFF is made from stretchy plastic (LLPDE). The “stretchy” nature of GLAD® TUFF STUFF rubbish bags allows the bags to stretch to resist puncturing and tearing more effectively than other bags. The bags are also thicker than most other similar size bags, making them the most reliable way of disposing of rubbish or storing household items such as blankets, linen and clothing.
